Attendance Referral Process

The Del Valle ISD District Student Support Office (DSSO) handles referrals to address attendance issues from all 13 campuses. There is a strict referral process in place to ensure that Truancy Prevention Measures and family engagement attempts at the campus level are exhausted prior to DSSO intervention. There is a Pre-Referral Checklist (link to the downloadable version is to the left) to guide campuses through each step prior to a referral to DSSO. All evidence must be documented prior to the referral. Referrals not meeting each required step will be sent back to the campus for further interventions. Campus administrators will refer a student to DSSO once the Pre-Referral Checklist is completed and attach all required documentation (Truancy Prevention Measures Form, etc).
